Responsabilidades: ¿Solo la madre cuida?
Una de las cosas más difíciles dentro de una relación de parejas con hijos, es la asignación de responsabilidades. El padre tiende a tratar de zafarse de la responsabilidad de cuidar a su hijo y la mujer es la primera que contribuye a que esto suceda.
El hombre siempre se ve a sí mismo como la figura que tiene el deber de salir a trabajar y conseguir dinero, mientras que la mujer es quien se queda en casa a hacer los quehaceres y cuidar a los hijos. Paradójicamente, son las mujeres las que reafirman esta actitud.
Una de las frases más típicas entre mujeres, al menos en la comunidad latina, es la siguiente: ¿y tu esposo no te ayuda con el niño? Esta pregunta, reafirma la tesis antes expuesta y nos lleva a preguntarnos, ¿es que acaso la mujer se embaraza sola? ¿Es que acaso el fruto del amor entre dos personas es solo, en realidad, fruto de la amor de la mujer por ella misma?
La idea de que el hombre es quien lleva el pan a la mesa y la mujer es la que se encarga del mantenimiento del hogar es una concepción machista que viene desde tiempos muy antiguos.
Otrora, las mujeres eran tratadas como objetos con un fin específico: traer hombres al mundo. Incluso, en comunidades tan avanzadas como la griega, eran consideradas menos que un esclavo.
Hasta las culturas orientales asiáticas dejaban a la mujer de lado, dándole poder a los hombres sobre ellas.
Únicamente en las culturas escandinavas, las mal llamadas comunidades vikingas, los hombres tenían un poco más de respeto por las mujeres. Podían participar en batallas y luchar junto a sus compañeros, encargarse de villas completas cuando sus esposos salían a saquear o comerciar mercancía en verano.
Sin embargo, aun cuando eran más valoradas e importantes dentro de su sociedad, los hombres tenían poder sobre ellas, y mientras ellos estaban en la villa, eran ellos los que gobernaban, junto a más de una esposa.
Es por ello, que es tan difícil cambiar de parecer con respecto a esta idea machista de que el hombre no “ayude” a la mujer con su hijo.
Existen hombres que alegan que no es un comportamiento natural y que hay que observar a los animales que son más sabios. Lo que este grupo de hombres no sabe, es que hasta dentro del reino animal existen grupos de animales que se dividen equitativamente el trabajo de cuidar a sus cachorros.
El caso más emblemático es el de los leones. El rey de la selva, debido a su gran tamaño y fuerza, no puede casar de día, por esta razón, son las leonas quienes salen a casar y a buscar comida tanto para los cachorros como para su padre. Esta división del trabajo es perfecta, ya que el león es, por su gran fuerza y ferocidad, la niñera ideal para los cachorros porque los mantiene alejados de todo peligro.
Otro ejemplo es el de una especie de orangután que habita en las selvas del África. Lo peculiar de este mono es que vive en una sociedad totalmente matriarcal, es decir, son las hembras quienes gobiernan sobre los demás. Este tipo de gobierno es tan eficaz, que no hay riñas entre los machos por alguna hembra, todos viven felices.
Según el filósofo francés Michael Foucault, todo este embrollo del machismo tiene que ver con la relación entre poderes desde tiempo inmemoriales y es un gobierno netamente discursivo, pero que repercute en la mente de las personas.
De acuerdo con su hipótesis, el hombre obtuvo su poder sobre la mujer en tiempos de la caverna e impuso su control sobre ella, creando así instituciones y legalizando la opresión de la mujer por el hombre.
Es por ello que afirmamos que la mujer no es la única responsable de los hijos que tiene con su esposo, el hombre se adjudica un 50% de responsabilidad en esta operación.
En conclusión, el hombre no debe “ayudar” a su mujer con los niños, lo que realmente debe hacer es encargarse de la responsabilidad de sus actos y cuidar junto con ella a sus hijos: ir a buscarlos al colegio, llamar a la niñera, cuidarlos cuando mamá tenga que salir, bañarlos, cambiarlos y todo lo relacionado con la crianza de un ser humano.
